“A photograph is usually looked at – seldom looked into.” – Ansel Adams.
I am a self-taught photographer born and bred in Yorkshire but now based in Manchester in the North West of England with a passion for most genres of photography.

My photographic journey began in the 1970s using a Russian Zenit E camera, then progressing to an Olympus OM10 (with Data back) in the late 1980s. With the introduction of digital SLR cameras my interest in photography was re-kindled and has grown considerably over the last 20 years through using the Olympus E520 (4/3rds system) and then a Canon EOS 7D to become my true passion.

In March 2020 I dipped my toe into the world of mirrorless full-frame cameras.

Since August 2021 I have been a registered photographer for Carousel Calendars, and regularly supply them with images.

A selection of my work is also available through the Alamy Stock Photography Website:

I am available for commissioned work; so If there is anything I am able to help you with, then please get in touch via the 'contact me' page.

Although all digital images have to be processed to some extent to make them usable, I shoot in RAW format, and keep manipulation to a minimum I believe it is better to get the image right 'in camera' and do as little post-processing as possible.

I hope you enjoy viewing my images as much as I did in capturing them.

In October 2021 I was awarded my Licentiate qualification of the National Photographic Society and am currently working towards my Associate Qualification.

My current equipment consists of:
  • Sony alpha A7 iii with 35mm full-frame image sensor
